About this wine
The Nonni Cabernet Sauvignon received Bronze medal at 2015 Decanter World Wine Awards, Silver Medal at Japan’s Women Wine Awards 2016, and was marked by Tim Atkin MW as one of best wines of Argentina.
It is produced in Mendoza, Argentina, at the altitude of 1000-1050 metres, at the foot of the majestic Andes. The high altitude and southerly location combine to offer warm sunny days with cool mountain nights. The warm sunny days lend a rich concentration of black fruit flavors together with a soft, supple texture. The cool mountain nights contribute intense floral aromatics and racy acidity to the wines.
Grapes for this delicious Cabernet Sauvignon are hand-harvested, and ferment in stainless steel tanks. 30% of the wine ages in used French Oak barrels and picks a hint of oak, to create a rich and delicate texture.
Great balance with hints of fresh pepper and light eucalyptus. It has a friendly, drinkable style, presenting freshness and stylish sweet tannins.
“Attractive violet flowers with cassis and plum aromas that lead to a fresh and neatly cut palate that offers a fresh, brambly, redder-fruited style. Drink or hold. Screw cap.” – 88/100 JamesSuckling.com
The full flavour and high level of tannins make Cabernet Sauvignon work best with rich roast meats offering a nice level of fats such as lamb or beef steak. It also offers a variety of wonderful pairing options with grilled vegetarian dishes high in proteins and with rich texture to balance the peppery flavours of the wine.
Proteins: burgers, steaks, pork, lamb
Cheeses: Manchego, Comté
Vegetarian and vegan: grilled shiitake mushrooms, mushroom risotto, quinoa, white and black beans
