This fine gift set includes two UK-exclusive products. The first is a bottle of Decanter medal-winning Barolo 2016 by Paolo Demarie. The second is a 250 gram jar of “Crema di Nocciola” – hazelnut and chocolate paste, an authentic Piemonte delicacy.
The Wine
We are really proud to stock this Barolo. It comes from a vineyard in La Morra planted on blue-grey marls. Straight out of the bottle, it offers pronounced aromas of roses, liquorice, and raspberry, as well as notes of blueberry preserve and raisins. 2016 was perhaps the best vintage of this decade, and it’s selling very fast. The wine is still very young (for Barolo) and tannic, and will reach its full potential after 2023.
The Hazelnut Crema
This artisan Crema di Nocciola is produced by Emanuele Canaparo. This sweet and delicate paste is made by mixing high-quality chocolate with hazelnuts, grown in Emanuele’s family estate in Alta Langa.
Both products are UK-exclusive, and sourced by us directly from producers in Piemonte. This will be a unique and memorable gift for anyone who loves Italy.
