This wine is the quintessential taste of Chianti Classico, and was awarded a stellar 92 points from wine expert James Suckling. La Castellina winery is hidden in the cellars of a historic castle, which belonged to the Squarcialupi family during the 15th Century. Not only were this family big political players in the wars between Siena and Florence, they also created the Squarcialupi Codex – a unique surviving manuscript of Renaissance music.
Tasting notes: Tasting notes: Dry, with a bright ruby colour. Prominent aromas of fresh raspberry and cherry, characteristic to Sangiovese, and aromatic herbs. Medium body, high acidity and fine tannins, with a subtle hint of cloves and cinnamon: from 12 months ageing in large barrels of Slavonian oak.

We love our wine and do handle it with care - each bottle is packaged in a special inflated envelope to reduce the risk of breakage.
Individual bottles get shipped in boxes, and two bottles is the minimum quantity per order. The Checkout form will advise you if you need to add more bottles to complete an order.
