Weissburgunder (Pinot Bianco) wine

Bunches of ripe Weissburgunder or Pinot Bianco grapes on the vine in Alto Adige in Italy

Weißburgunder is a German name for Pinot Bianco, a grape that thrives in the high altitude vineyards of Alto Adige, in the German-speaking area of Italy. This region is home to Europe's highest vineyards – sitting as high as 1,100 metres. These high altitudes help to preserve acidity and freshness in the grapes.

What does Italian Weißburgunder taste like? light and delicate, Weißburgunder from Alto Adige tastes like guava and lychee, crisp green apple, juicy pear and zingy lemon. With some aging, it develops notes of ginger and honey.
