Award-winning Verdicchio Riserva from the Classico zone, with flavours of lime rind, chamomile and almonds

Utopia is a full-bodied Verdicchio Riserva that offers a lot of flavour and texture, with a charmingly silky mouthfeel. Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio Riserva DOCG is undoubtedly one of Italy’s best wines, and we’re delighted to stock this award-winning vintage.

Winemaking

This Verdicchio Riserva is made from the best grapes, grown on sandy soils. Right from the start and until bottling, grapes are protected from any contact with oxygen, in order to preserve their authentic flavours. After fermentation, wine is kept on fine lees for nine months. After that, the wine matures for 12 months is stainless steel tanks, with another six months in bottle.

Tasting Notes

This Castelli di Jesi Riserva has a pale lemon colour. It bursts with flavours of zesty lime rind, white flowers (think of orange blossom or jasmine), as well as yellow apple, chamomile and sage. These are complemented by nutty notes and a touch of saltiness. Utopia is very refreshing thanks to its high acidity, yet it has a full body and a smooth, silky mouthfeel.
